VALOR, MERITORIOUS, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS
Honoring Middlesex County Public Safety Officers
for outstanding bravery or community service
The nominee must be a member of a Middlesex County
public safety organization: Police, Prosecutor’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, Department of
Corrections, State Police, Federal Law Enforcement, Fire or First Aid Organizations.
The service must have occurred in Middlesex County between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016
Commanding Officers, in consultation with appropriate parties, are requested to submit their nominations in writing, explaining in detail why their nominee should be one of those selected as an Outstanding Public Safety Officer of the Year for Valor, Meritorious or Community Service.
- VALOR: Those public safety officers who have performed an outstanding act in the line of duty, despite the risk of imminent personal harm; or who have been in combat with an armed adversary
- MERITORIOUS SERVICE: Those public safety officers who have performed an outstanding act in the line of duty.
- COMMUNITY SERVICE:Those public safety officers who have displayed initiative in the creation or application of an innovative, valuable and successful program in the area of community affairs.
All nominations must be received by April 17th, 2017. A 4×6 or 5×7 black and white photograph must
accompany each nomination.Color is acceptable, however, be aware that it does not print as well.

Recipients of the 2017 Awards will be our guests at a ceremony to be held in their honor at the
Pines Manor, May 24, 2017. Cocktail hour,11:00 am to 12 noon, Awards and lunche onto follow.
