Valor Awards –Nominate A Middlesex County Public Safety Officer
Each year, The 200 Club of Middlesex County recognizes a police officer(s), fire fighters, EMS personnel or private citizen(s) who have distinguished themselves by an action of extraordinary heroism or service to the community. The 200 Club established the Valor Awards Program in 1974. Click below to find out more details about our award.
Nominations must be received by March 18, 2024. Winners will be notified by April 1, 2024.
AWARD PROCEDURES
Valor Award Eligibility
All sworn law enforcement officers, fire fighters, EMS or volunteer personnel of local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, are eligible as well as private citizens.
Nomination Format
Nominations for these awards shall be made by the Chief of Police, Fire Chief, Rescue Squad Chief or Senior Officer of the nominating agency. While an official 200 Club Award Nomination Form must accompany each nomination, there is no specified format required for nominations. However, it is suggested that nominations include a statement of the specific circumstances and facts of the incident(s) underlying the nomination, which must be supplemented by supporting documents, such as official reports, departmental citations, letters of commendation, newspaper clippings, etc. A black and white photograph of the nominated officer should accompany the nomination. Please note that photographs and nomination materials will not be returned. All nominates must be submitted with a letter from the Senior Officer on letterhead with attached form.
Only service performed that occurred in the calendar year immediately preceding the deadline shall be considered.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARDS PROGRAM
Eligibility
Is awarded to members of law enforcement, fire fighters, EMS or volunteers who distinguish themselves by outstanding meritorious achievement or service to their community. An official 200 Club Award Nomination Form must accompany each nomination. However, it is suggested that nominations include a statement of the specific circumstances and facts of the incident(s) underlying the nomination, which must be supplemented by supporting documents, such as police reports, departmental citations, letters of commendation, newspaper clippings, etc. A black and white photograph of the nominated officer should accompany the nomination. Please note that photographs and nomination materials will not be returned. All nominee’s must be submitted with a letter from the C.O.P., SLEO, EMS Chief or Fire Chief on letterhead with attached form.
Only service performed that occurred in the calendar year immediately preceding the deadline shall be considered.
If Multiple Personnel are involved/nominees, it should be on one(1) form.
COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD PROCEDURES
Eligibility
Any private citizen resident in the Middlesex County, New Jersey or act that was performed in Middlesex County is eligible for receipt of the award.This award is for a non -paid job performed by one person or a group of people for the benefit of the community or its institutions through devotion of personal time and effort for the betterment of the community.
Method and Timing of Delivery of Nominations
Nominations must be delivered by mail to the 200 Club of Middlesex County Office P.O. Box 204, South Amboy, NJ 08879, no later than March 18, 2024 (or the closest regular business day there after). Only service performed that occurred in the calendar year immediately preceding the deadline shall be considered.
